I understand that AI plagiarism is an issue that is increasingly plaguing recruiting, academics, media, in-fact, almost all domains.

Being close enough to this hot issue (my experience in EdTech + AI) and with my moderate knowledge of how AI plagiarism detection works (token probability manipulation, Unicode insertion, and most recent metadata embedding), detection of AI-generated content is a whack-a-mole endeavor. There will always be tools that generate content that goes undetected and there will always be updates to existing tools to patch these gaps.

My work won’t compete with the latest GPT output but that exactly is my differentiation point. I may have missed some keywords that the latest ATS are tracking. It’s a tradeoff and choosing authenticity over “generic polish” is a bet I’m willing to make.

If you have gotten this far and are still reading, I want to raise an interesting question: Why should we care about how any piece of information is crafted? As long as it is the information content is accurate, information entropy is low and the artifact in question serves the purpose of communicating crisply, why should the tools used for creating it matter? Think about it... Do you care if a logarithm of a number was calculated using a Texas Instruments TI-81 or a book filled with logarithmic tables? Do you care if the song you are streaming was transcoded using Ogg Vorbis 320 kbps codec or the latest Meta’s EnCodec?

Given the tools around, and the amount of push on adoption, I’m assuming we’d have to address this sooner than later. Just to draft this in word, I got so many nudges to use AI!
